Make sure you and anyone else in the area are safe. If your Smoke Screen is connected to a monitoring system, the station will be notified. If not, call the South African Police Service (SAPS) or your security company immediately.
If you are inside the protected area when the Smoke Screen activates, remain calm. The fog will quickly reduce visibility, so lower yourself to the floor and move carefully toward a designated safe area.
Remain where you are until visibility starts to return, then make your way to the exit and wait for the police.
Stay where you are until visibility begins to improve. Once the fog starts to disperse and it is safe to move, carefully make your way to the nearest exit and wait outside the building for security personnel or police to arrive.
If the activation occurs outside normal operating hours, do not attempt to enter the protected area immediately. Allow the system to complete its pre-set deployment cycle before approaching the building.
Before entering the premises, check for any obvious signs of forced entry such as broken doors, windows, or damaged locks. If you notice signs of intrusion or suspect that criminals may still be inside, remain outside and wait for the police or security response team to arrive.
While waiting for the fog to clear, remain alert and keep watch for intruders who may still be hiding inside the premises.
As visibility improves, additional doors and windows can be opened to speed up the ventilation process.
Once the area is fully clear and safe to enter, check the fog fluid levels in each Smoke Screen machine and replace the fluid if necessary so the system is ready for future activations.
