The problem
In South Africa, commercial properties holding high-value equipment and sensitive data are prime targets for break-ins. This modern two-storey office, located at a busy motorway junction, presented exactly that risk.
Inside was a high concentration of valuable computers and critical business data, making it an attractive and vulnerable target for organised theft.
The options
The initial approach was to strengthen physical security around the building to support the existing alarm system.
While this would have added a level of deterrence, it came at a cost. Heavier physical protection would impact the appearance of the site and still leave the contents exposed if breached. Once inside, criminals would have free access.
The solution
Instead of relying on barriers that can be broken through, the site deployed Smoke Screen security fog to protect the space from within.
Upon a confirmed break-in, 20 fog generators activate within seconds, filling the building with dense fog and removing all visibility. Intruders cannot navigate, locate assets, or continue the attack. The opportunity is gone instantly.
The result
Since installation, the site has experienced zero losses.
Security fog transformed the building from a vulnerable target into a protected environment, without compromising its appearance or usability.
Because when visibility disappears, so does the crime.
Can’t see it. Can’t steal it.
